PITTSFORD, N.Y. – breathe, the unique yoga studio, store, kitchen and spa headquartered in Pittsford, announced that it will host three yoga-inspired workshops Friday, May 25th and Saturday 26th with renowned yoga teacher and humanitarian, Seane Corn. Her visit kicks off breathe’s plans to offer 10 inspiring events to mark 10 years in business. breathe first opened its doors in Pittsford on Nov. 22nd, 2002.
“Seane Corn has been a good friend who has always supported what we do here at breathe, from the yoga we offer to the food we serve to our humanitarian efforts to how we do business,” said Cyndi Weis, breathe’s owner. “We are thrilled she will help us kick off our 10th anniversary year and will inspire people with her gifted teaching style and her very centered approach to life and service.”
Seane Corn is an internationally celebrated yoga teacher known for her impassioned activism and inspirational style of teaching. A strong and articulate voice for social change, she started her activism work by creating the yoga program for the “Children of the Night” shelter in Los Angeles, CA. Since 2006, her work has focused on training leaders of activism through her co-founded organization Off the Mat, Into the World (OTM)and bringing awareness to the HIV/AIDS crisis.
breathe has participated in each of OTM’s global programs offered, raising more than $80,000 for humanitarian projects in Cambodia, Uganda, South Africa and Haiti. Efforts are underway now to raise $20,000 for OTM projects in India next year. Overall, the OTM organization has raised millions of dollars to serve communities in need all over the world.
Over the last 20 years of her career, Seane has been featured in magazines, Oprah.com, The Huffington Post, numerous radio programs such as NPR, and four self-authored DVD programs. In addition, in 2005 she was named the National Yoga Ambassador for YouthAIDS. She also sits on the board of both the Cambodian Children’s Fund and the Engage Network.
While at breathe, Seane will offer three workshops, featuring discussion and vinyasa (or “flow”) yoga suited for the seasoned practitioner and the beginner. Details follow:

Five of breathe’s 10 anniversary programs have been announced.
